Today, January 20, 2014, marks the 133rd anniversary of James Ball Fletcher and Laura Lee who were married in 1881 in Suwannee County, Florida, by Elder John H. Townsend. I wrote in a previous post Third Time’s the Charm about the circumstances surrounding their marriage. There’s also a picture of the two of them at My Great Grandparents.
The unusual thing about both of these great-grandparents is that I cannot find a death certificate or obituary for either of them. I have an official “could not find” certificate from the Office of Vital Statistics in Jacksonville stating that there is no record of the event of Laura’s death in the central registry of Florida at anytime during the year 1924, which is the year on her gravemarker. Both of them are buried at O’Brien Cemetery in Suwannee County. You can see their graves at Findagrave.com. If you happen to have an obituary or some sort of proof of death for them, I’d be grateful if you’d share it with me.
